Bo's Coffee: Expresso Froccino, Cafe Mocha, Green Tea & Chocolate Truffle Cake

We were out at SM Mall of Asia with our friend, Mike Mark, to grab some lunch and hang out a little. Mimi had some Bo's Coffee GCs on hand, so we decided to cash them in. Bo's Coffee has been around the Philippines for some time now. Despite the huge presence of Starbucks, Seattle's Best and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Bo's has managed to attract a good crowd in most of their branches. It gives you the same feel of a coffee shop, with dim lights, soft music and the coffee aroma.

Chocolate Truffle Cake.

THE VERDICT

He Says: The Expresso Froccino is something that would definitely jolt you from your sleepiness. It provides you with a much needed kick to get you up and about. Its not too strong, but not sweet. Just the right balance between Coffee flavors. The Cafe Mocha was sweet and milky. It gives you a slight kick at the end, but not as powerful as the other expresso drinks. I'm not a fan of the Green Tea. Definitely not something I'd order. The Chocolate Truffle Cake was too Chocolate-y. A bad mix of Dark and Milk Chocolate was definitely not good.

Rating: Expresso Froccino = 9/10; Cafe Mocha = 9/10; Green Tea = 5/10; Chocolate Truffle = 4/10

She Says: I never bothered to try Bo's Coffee until I had those GC's. The Expresso Froccino is a waker-upper(My word. haha) It packs a punch and gets you back on your feet. Cafe Mocha tasted like chocolate, hardly tasted the coffee in it. The green tea was my favorite! I'd prefer their version of green tea over Starbucks and CBTL. The Chocolate truffle  is not something we'd order ever again. Maybe it's really not meant for our palette. I wish we got cookies instead :(

Rating: Expresso Froccino = 10/10; Cafe Mocha = 7/10; Green Tea = 10/10; Chocolate Truffle = 3/10

The Coffee Academy: Choco Acad & Cafe Mocha by Gabriel

It was after Gab's Basketball game and we didn't wanna head home just yet. We figured we'd grab some coffee somewhere and hangout for a while. The Coffee Academy is another place Gab and his friends go to for hangouts and time-killing.

Up for review: The Choco Acad & Cafe Mocha by Gabriel.

It's quite small compared to your usual coffee shop

They have other drinks besides coffee

They serve food too!

These aren't ours but they looked so good!

Waiting for our drinks :)

THE VERDICT

He Says: The one thing that I find troubling with the Choco Acad was the size. It's never as big as you would get at other coffee shops, but the taste is good for it's size. It's cheaper than most places, and it's good. It's just the size that gets to me. The Cafe Mocha is a classic mocha type drink. Nothing extraordinary, but it's good nonetheless.

Rating: Choco Acad = 8/10; Cafe Mocha = 7/10

She Says: Gab's right. When he took me for coffee at The Coffee Academy I thought it was gonna be like the coffee shops in manila. It's quite different, this coffee shop serves meals like pasta and rice (I believe). The people we saw dining there were mostly families and businessmen who were having meetings. The coffee is good. Not very strong and a bit too watery. The biggest size was a grande in starbucks. The drinks in general are okay. Not something i'd crave for anytime soon.

Rating: Choco Acad = 7/10; Cafe Mocha = 7/10

SBC: Hot Chocolate & White & Dark Chocolate Mocha

After our usual MOA Dates, we usually crash our favorite coffee shop, Seattle's Best. It was after the Harry Potter 7 screening that we decided to spend a little more time before heading home. Gab ordered his usual and Mimi ordered the White & Dark Chocolate Mocha.

Hot & Cold.

I'll just put this here. There was one instance where I got to try the hot version of the White and Dark Chocolate Mocha :)

THE VERDICT

He Says: Im'ma skip the review on the Hot Chocolate because we've done a review on this, so I'll jump to the White & Dark Chocolate Mocha. It was pretty solid, considering that I don't order a lot of SBC's Cold Drinks. It was Milk Chocolately, yet bitter enough to feel the Dark Chocolate. I'd like to try this again sometime to get a full appreciation of the taste.

Rating: 9/10

She Says: The White and Dark Chocolate Mocha was REALLY GOOD hot and cold! It has this Strong coffee taste that's enough to wake you for the next few hours but it's not enough to keep you up all night. If you're looking for something that a little stronger than your regular coffee but not too strong then you should try it!
