Vanilla Cupcake Cakery

The Re-Opening of a side of Glorietta has brought about a new look, new stores, and yes, new places for food. A dainty little cupcake place called the Vanilla Cupcake Cakery has opened up, and has taken Glorietta by storm. It's a simple, yet warm place to be, with the environment looking like one's own living room.

The place is always packed with people

They have limited but really comfortable chairs.

They serve their cupcakes with a pitcher of water and wooden utensils :)

In case you guys wanted to take cupcakes home or give them as a gift, they have really cute cupcake containers.

The location was great and the cupcakes were good but the price of the cupcakes and the cleanliness of the store really threw us off.

The cupcakes were not bad. They put a generous amount of icing on their cupcakes that make them a little too sweet for our taste.

The price of the cupcakes range from 75 to 100 per piece. We find this pretty expensive for a cupcake but seeing as it's the nearest place to get a cupcake we have no other choice but give in to our cupcake cravings.

We've been there twice and enjoyed the cupcakes in the store but there's this disturbing smell when you're seated in the first two tables. We might just have our cupcakes to go the next time we visit.

Spaghetti Factory: Spinach Dip, Carbonara & Beef and Mushroom Pasta

Here in the Philippines, Pizza & Pasta are one of our favorite dishes to eat. Whether is Sbarro's, Pizza Hut, Yellow Cab or Shakey's, we love our share good ol'fashioned Pizza and Pasta. Aside from these well-known places, there's a little Bistro you can find in the Makati Area. The Spaghetti Factory is one of Glorietta 5's Best Kept Secrets. Its a Pizza & Pasta place, similar to the likes of CIBO, Don Herico's and Pizzeria, the Spaghetti Factory tries to bring that Authentic Flavor at reasonable prices.

Spinach Dip

They had this HUGE pepper dispenser.

Carbonara

Beef and Mushroom

THE VERDICT

He Says: I was a little reluctant to try this place out. Needless to say, I did. The Spinach Dip wasn't the good. I thought it to be cheezy and creamy rather than bland and sorta milky. You'd be WAY better off with CIBO's take on it. The Carbonara was definitely something I looked forward to, and it delivered. The Bacon Bits are very good, despite not having the crunch and it very well complimented the sauce. Its good, but no real twists to it. Straight up Carbonara.

Rating: Spinach Dip = 4/10; Carbonara = 8/10

She Says: If you're craving for pasta and you're on a budget then The Spaghetti Factory is where you should head to! This definitely makes the craving go away and what I like about the store is that you can choose between the different kinds of noodles. As for the spinach dip, it had this weird flavor so we never got to finish it.

Rating: Spinach Dip = 4/10; Beef and Mushroom = 9/10

Manang's Chicken

We have hearing the hype about Manang's Chicken, saying that it's Chicken is the Filipino take on BonChon Chicken. We've been hearing reviews about it, so we decided to try it out. Luckily, Gab was able to see a branch in the Glorietta 4 Foodcourt, and he wanted to try it for himself. Their Fried Chicken comes with different sauces: Original, Mild and Extra Spicy. We tried the Original Sauce first.

Six Piece Meal.

THE VERDICT

He Says: Its an interesting take on Fried Chicken. Pretty much like BonChon Chicken, only sweeter. Its crispy and tender, and I'm pretty sure you'll need a lot of rice to eat this sucker. I have yet to try the other sauces, but from the Original Sauce, this Chicken does not fail to disappoint. Its really good alternative to BonChon.

Rating = 9/10

She Says: People love comparing Manang's chicken to Bonchon. I think that they're totally different. I find this meal sort of sweet. The chicken is good, it's just not my type :)

Rating = 7/10

Gong Cha: Wintermelon Chocolate

Gong Cha is leading the race in terms of the Milk Tea race in the Philippines (that's according to the stall in the G4). They have many great flavors from the regular Milk Tea to their Ice Cream Milk Tea. We decided to try out their Wintermelon Milk Tea and Chocolate Milk Tea.

THE VERDICT

He Says: I'm actually surprised by the taste of the Wintermelon. What looks to be a sweet fruity drink, turned out to be a creamy, milky and sweet tasting drink. Definitely becoming of my favorites. Their Chocolate Milk Tea is a little thicker and creamy than most Chocolate Milk Tea drinks. Very good for both drinks.

Rating: Wintermelon = 10/10; Chocolate Milk Tea = 10/10

She Says: Ever since we've tried Gong Cha in Mall of Asia  it has always been the only place I can go to that will satisfy my milk tea cravings. I've never tried Wintermelon before but i'm really glad I did! I'm also glad that I tried the in gong cha! Even my friends say that it's been the best Wintermelon they've ever had! As for the Chocolate Milk Tea, It tastes like a really creamy dark chocolate drink :) not bad.

Rating: Wintermelon = 10/10; Chocolate Milk Tea = 10/10

Italianni's: Chicken Italianni's, Carbonara, Watermelon and Pineapple Shake

It was another Italian day out as we celebrated our 26th Monthsary at Italianni's. It was our first Italianni's together, so we decided to take your appetite there. It was really cozy place to be and the food was great. Up for review, Chicken Italianni's, Carbonara, Watermelon and Pineapple Shake.

THE VERDICT

He Says: The Chicken Italianni's was huge! I didn't know it would be like that. The Potato Wedges were awesome. Soft and with the right amount of Saltiness.  The Italian Sausages had the right amount of Spice and Meatiness. The Chicken had a lemon-y flavor to it because of the herb-wine sauce. The Chicken Italianni's was amazing. The Carbonara was classic. Creamy and the bacon was awesome! The Pineapple Shake was legit. It was made from 100% Pineapple. Nothing but the best.

Rating: Chicken Italianni's = 10/10; Carbonara = 10/10; Pineapple Shake = 9/10

She Says: It was our first Italianni's date together :) I got the Carbonara, Serving size is okay, it was good and you get what you pay for. nothing too special though. The Chicken Italianni's was something special though. It was scrumptious! It had this little lemon aftertaste to it.It was really good! The watermelon shake tasted like watermelon placed in a blender and served (I mean that's how it's supposed to be right?) But I was hoping that they would've at least tasted it and made it more appealing to my taste buds. A little sugar would've helped but it was good enough, I guess.

Rating: Chicken Italianni's = 10/10; Carbonara = 9/10; Watermelon Shake = 7/10

California Pizza Kitchen: Carbonara and Hawaiian BBQ Pizza

Pizza, anyone? Where's a good place to chill, good food and delicious pizza and pasta? You'd think this place, that place, but we're pretty sure you're not thinking about California Pizza Kitchen. CPK is really good restaurant with a good vibe and good food. Up for review, Hawaiian BBQ Pizza and Carbonara.

Um. Gangsta Harry Potter? Haha.

Quick view of the place

Carbonara!

Hawaiian BBQ Pizza.

A little ouch on the wallet.

THE VERDICT

He Says: I want my resto to look like this place. The vibe is just so chill, plus it has a great view. Moving on to the food. The Carbonara is very creamy and good. Thick enough and flavorful. Downside is that it's a little small. Love and I bought a sharing size place, but it wasn't enough. The Pizza is something. Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sauce with good Chicken. Definitely coming back for it. I wanna try their Salad too. I heard it's good.

Rating: Pizza = 10/10; Carbonara = 9/10

She Says: I've been a fan of this place since I was young and it's still one of my favorite places to eat! Their pizza, tasty! you can really taste the fresh ingredients and serving time is really quick. I also found their serving size just right :) I don't think Gab remembers how FULL we were when we ate there. haha. The place is very chill. The staff are very attentive to our needs. We just turn our heads and they come right up. :)) We will definitely come back :)

Rating: Pizza = 10/10; Carbonara = 10/10
