Time Out: Lechon Kawali and Chicken Leg & Thigh BBQ

Sports Bars are a little hard to operate around the Taft Area, mainly because places are usually busy from Morning to Afternoon. Night times are usually for Drinking Places, Bars, Coffee Shops and some Food Places. Time-Out is a new joint that opened up in the Taft Area, catering to sports junkies and alcohol seekers. Besides the sports theme, the place has a couple of Food items on the menu. Up for review, Lechon Kawali and Chicken Leg & Thigh BBQ.

Lechon Kawali.

Chicken Leg & Thigh BBQ.

THE VERDICT

He Says: Probably one of the BEST Lechon Kawali I've had. It's crispy and juicy. It isn't stale, like those cheap places that offer subpar Kawali. The problem was, I saw was the price. Again, serving size should always play a role in pricing. This was overpriced. It's not bad, though. I believe you should have some cash on you if you wanna sample Time-Out's Kawali. The Chicken Leg & Thigh BBQ is definitely a must try. It's sweet and juicy. And, you don't taste any hint of spice in it. Normally, BBQ can be a little spicy, but this one is good without it.

Rating: Lechon Kawali = 9/10; Chicken BBQ = 9/10

She Says: The food tastes really fresh and it's quite tasty as well! :) The only thing preventing us from eating there frequently is the price. The quality of the food is good but we believe that it's slightly over-priced. The chicken leg and thigh BBQ is super tasty! It's really juicy but I believe that the BBQ taste goes only as far as the skin.

Tinuhog ni Benny: The Second Visit

People often worry about their Food  budget, especially students. Once place where students never fail to flock to, Tinuhog ni Benny. It's cheap, it's good and it's clean. Here the review on the second visit.

Their Best Selling Chicken BBQ

Another favorite, Liempo

Their Pork BBQ

Best served with Sparkle Softdrink.

Some happy faces.

THE VERDICT

He Says: Lemme jump to the Chicken BBQ. A little spicy, yet the spice brings out the true flavor. It's REALLY GOOD. I like how a hint of spice can bring out the real flavor it. At 55php, you're in for a treat.

Rating: 10/10

She Says: The Chicken BBQ is spicy. Not a big fan of spicy food. Not a big fan of the BBQ either. The Liempo never fails to satisfy our grilled cravings. We love drinking Sparkle! It tastes sorta like mountain dew. You should give it a try :)

Boneless Chicken BBQ and Pork BBQ: Alex III

When you're around the U.N. Avenue area or near the Manila Pavilion Hotel, one place you can eat is at Alex III. We were quite hungry and decided to try this place out. Normally, we wouldn't do something like this, but we did it anyway for your reading pleasure.

THE VERDICT

He Says: This is a first. Normally, I wouldn't try any new place to eat at, unless people give good remarks or the place gets good reviews. Alex III is just your typical kind of restaurant. Nothing special, nothing new. The place feels cozy, but gives off an "old people" vibe. The waiters are sorta aged, but they're very courteous. The place kinda reminds me of Dayrit's over at Paseo de Magallanes.

Moving on to their food, I tried one of their Best Sellers, their Pork BBQ. Looking at it, I sorta thought it would disappoint me, but it didn't. The taste reminded me of Reyes BBQ, especially with their sauce. It was enough to get me full. I'm a big guy with a little bit of a big appetite and it good me full. Not bad. Good place to go to.

Rating: Pork BBQ 9.5/10

She Says: I love love love trying new places to eat! When me and Gab ventured out into U.N. Ave for official business we got hungry and was looking for a place to eat. I wanted ChicBoy cause it sounded silly but noooo he wanted to eat somewhere else but i'm glad we did. Alex III reminded me of Aristocrat and Reyes BBQ. The taste was quite similar to the two but the difference was that we had unlimited sauce unlike in Aristocrat where they give you the small packets pa. It's really good though.

Inengs BBQ: Market Market

A couple of months ago I found out that Gab has NEVER tried Inengs Barbecue!! So I took him to the branch that was easy to get to, the one in Market Market.

After one of the parties I hosted for club princess we headed straight to the food court to give him a taste of one of the best barbecues i've EVER had.

The store

The Barbecue's. in 6 inch and 12 inch sticks :)

Love and our tower of iced tea.
(*we got the tower of iced tea from some other store. not bad for 60PHP)

The Verdict

He Says: Can someone say Ultimate Fan? Haha. Wow. This BBQ is by far the best I've eaten. The sauce is grilled into the BBQ itself and the taste just explodes the flavor of it in each bite. I could chow down a lot if I could, and I'd like to franchise it to the Taft Area. Haha. I'd really really like to have this place very accessible so I can have as much as I can. Simply, the best!
Rating: 10/10

She Says: BEST BARBECUE EVER! It's the tastiest meatiest one around the metro! Even the fat of the barbecue's so tasty you'd eat it as well! I'm not surprised that there's always such a long line in front of all their store. They even have another store a couple of meters away from this one made exclusively for take out!
